We’ve accomplished much this past year:
- New equipment purchases
- Optimization of myocyte isolation protocols for guinea pig and mouse
- First FRET experiments a la Muller Lab
- Establishment of the lab’s first mouse colony
- Coming and going of six individuals (two PhD, two summer, and one hs student; one technician)
- Addition of a new baby and maternity leave for Grace
Among the many ups and downs, we celebrate the small things like this beautiful PCR done by Evan. A year ago, we were only filing paper work so that we could obtain these mice for rederivation. A year ago, we had yet to perform a PCR in the new lab, and an agarose gel was yet to be cast. But here we are, pushing forward and making small progress no matter how incremental.
We are looking for motivated folks to join the lab in the new year. If interested, please inquire with Grace.
